Add Product Category (Web)

Skimmer has a large database of equipment you can add to the shopping list, but we understand there are parts you use much more commonly than others. So it would be nice to have a quicker way to add those parts to your shopping list. Skimmer lets you do exactly that, as well as indicate category and price, in our Products section. The first thing we’ll show you is how to set up product categories. Categories are optional, but they make it a lot easier to organize your products. On the web portal, go to Settings and then Products. In the top right corner, you’ll see a Categories button, click that.

On the Categories page, just click Add Category. You’ll see it’s an open text box, so you can type whatever category name you’d like to have. We’ll put in a couple of general categories here, one for pumps and one for filters.

How do these categories help you? Let’s go back to the Products page. There, we’ll click the Add Product button, and you’ll see you can add a category as a further identifier for that product.

Going back to the main page, you can also filter your list by category, to zero in on the products you really need. In other videos, we’ll show you more that can be done with Products in general, but this is how you give them a category.
